About
I’m Jarvis, a graphic designer based in Leicestershire. I work across print, digital and motion, and I like the variety. I’ve never felt the need to pick just one.
After studying graphic design at Cumbria College of Art and Design, I started in television graphics in London, working on animation, titles and documentaries, including projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Universal Pictures. Agency work and freelancing have taken me in plenty of other directions since, from websites and visual identities to films and digital products.
A lot of my recent work has been with Treehouse Innovation. The projects have been varied: animated explainers, interfaces, workshop materials and all sorts in between. Often the starting point is a complicated subject that needs making clearer. I enjoy getting my head around it and finding a visual way in.
I’ve led teams and mentored other designers, but being hands-on is what I enjoy most. Whether it’s getting a layout right or figuring out how something should move, I like having a problem to get stuck into, and a bit of room to try something unexpected.
